Issue Position: Creating Jobs & Welcoming Business

"We must provide businesses with incentives that encourage growth and success, so they can provide quality, good paying jobs."

As a lineman for the local power co-op, my father taught me the value of hard work, laboring to provide for your family and being a productive member of the community. As a local business owner for the past 35 years, I know how challenging it can be to make a business work. We must provide businesses with incentives that encourage growth and success, so they can provide quality, good paying jobs. Great states, like great businesses, don't live off of yesterday's efforts -- they build for the future.

We have a real opportunity to capitalize on our agricultural economy and provide green and sustainable jobs. If we are smart and strategic, we can build jobs and businesses that will succeed.

It is our responsibility to make careful investments in infrastructure; that will help us to compete in today's economy and strengthen the foundation built by previous generations. We must work hard to make our communities places where the best and brightest workers want to raise their families and build businesses that will make our economy strong.
